METROPOLITAN COLLECTION

The 3rd prototype of our London barstool and New York Chair are exact copies of the ones created for the Metropolitan Collection back in 2020.

Due to the failed EN16139:2013 – Strength, durability, and safety tests (requirements for non-domestic seating) on our Sydney Lounge Chair and Hong Kong Chair we had to reengineer the collection.

These latest prototypes are made out of 20mm stainless steel tubes instead of 10mm steel bars and has a thicker oak veneered ply seat and back rests.

All tubes are pre-cut by laser before being assembled on Sigmund welding tables by a metal construction company with over 25 years experience.

Smaller parts are made on CNC milling and lathe machines to assure every product looks, feels and unfolds the same.

Working with these innovative technologies ensures high quality, lower wholesale prices, lead times and maximises profit margins.

These new prototypes where created to be tested for EN16139:2023 - Strength, durability, and safety tests. They are purely build to test the structure of the chairs.

Our final product will have all corners rounded, powder coated frames, and several oak veneered finishes.
