SULLIVAN
Form follows function is as important, if not more, in the 21st century as it was in the late 19th and 20th century.
Inspired by his terra cotta office building in downtown St Louis, Missouri, Sullivan is an ode to Architect Louis Sullivan, his philosophy, and his design principles. The base however is a subtle hint to everyday life in London.
While engineered, hand-polished, and assembled by Sander, it’s upholstered by Sophie Dhoore, who with her company Cover Couch, creates pieces for Muller Van Severen, Raf Simons, and many more.
The Sullivan represents craftsmanship, innovation and follows 6 functions, the divider, barstool, lounge chair, bench, stool, and chair.
4 plungers, 2 on each side, secure all functions in place. They also serve as a safety against transformation when in use.
It wouldn’t be a Sane creation without adaptation.
